A bin lorry crew was attacked and pelted with a brick during a round in Trafford.
The workers were collecting bins in Partington when a group of youths attacked them, throwing objects at the crew and a brick into the back of their lorry.
The incident took place at the junction of Derbyshire Road and Tulip Road on Wednesday.
The damaged lorry had to be taken out of service to be repaired.
Thankfully, no one was hurt in the incident which Trafford Council confirmed was reported to police.
It is something that has touched all our lives.

Partington councillor Adele New said on Twitter: "It's come to the attention of Bucklow Ward councillors that this week a bin crew and one of the trucks were attacked by a group of youths.
"Amey are 27 operatives down through self isolation and coronavirus with seven trucks out of use. There aren't many places available to get trucks repaired at present and actions like this could result in Partington losing the service completely for a time if this continues.
"This is extremely serious and must stop. It's mindless, it's dangerous and you will be prosecuted. Parents please keep your young people indoors."
Coun Mike Freeman, Trafford Council's executive member for public safety, was equally unimpressed.
He said: "This type of behaviour must stop. To all parents and carers please control your charges. Our bin operatives are essential workers and are providing you all with an essential service. Please respect them."
A spokesperson for the One Trafford partnership, the colloboration between the council and contractors Amey PLC behind bin collections, added: “We can confirm that something was thrown into the back of the lorry, damaging the vehicle. Thankfully none of our bin men were injured and the incident has been reported.
“This type of behaviour is totally unacceptable and puts extra strain on our bin men who are doing a fantastic job in very difficult circumstances.
“A huge thank you goes out to our bin men and all of our front line staff, for their amazing hard work. The efforts of our bin men have not gone unnoticed with our residents either and we have received some lovely messages of thanks from our residents since the lockdown began.”
Coun Stephen Adshead, the council's executive member for the environment, said: “I am sure everyone would join me in thanking the hard working crews on our waste collection for the valuable service they are doing.
“This is a severely testing time but they are continuing to deliver an essential service to residents under incredibly challenging circumstances.”
